Gotta Hustle
My Ethics professor was in the midst of arguing with the class over the result of our first exam when he made this announcement, "Look, you can't expect to do well in school and balance a full time job." I thought, "Man, I must be really special to be pulling this off," and then he added, "Unless you're willing to sacrifice your social life." How did he know my secret?!
It made me think of my first interview with Tom Scharpling where he said, "I was writing every night. Working on screenplays with a friend, sketches. I just really wanted to do that and get good at it. I would work, go home, and then write until four in the morning." That's really inspiring and I'm going to try to hustle just as much.
This week, I uploaded some interviews I've done that previously were available only in print. First off is this batch of Q and A's that Hollis James let me do for Celebrity Skin. There's my chat with Paul "The King of TV" Goebel about what the best TV shows for cleavage are, a compare/contrast between pornography and humor with humorist/porn screen writer Eric Spitznagel, and my interview with Chelsea Humboldt ,founder and star of VeryBadPorn.com .
Then there's these four pieces that appeared in The Comedians : Andy Kindler , Tom Scharpling , Dan Pasternak, who is head of content for Superdeluxe.com , and an exciting and informative piece on Yonatan Friedrich, an Israeli Comedian who talks all about comedy in the Holy Land.
I also did interviews for Starpulse, Gothamist, and LAist this week with the following people: Andy Milonakis , David Wain , Steve Guttenberg , and Michael Ian Black . The Guttenberg piece got a lot of positive feedback from everyone who read it, so check it out! He explains why he was so nutty in these two interviews: here and
here.
Lastly, I have finally completed a long awaited interview with Rebecca Curtis, except this time I am the subject! Enjoy!
Hopefully I'll be able to start on some new stories soon.
